The time is nearly here—Tata Sierra 2025 is returning with a bang!
The classic SUV of the ’90s—responsible for inspiring countless adventures—has now been reimagined into an all-electric, future-forward machine.
As we await its official launch on November 25, 2025, Tata Motors has published some exciting teasers, and we’ve put together everything we know about the Tata Sierra 2025.
Tata Sierra 2025 Design: Blending Old School with New School

When Tata first dropped a teaser back in 2020, fans were instantly hooked. The sharper concept shown in 2023 created even more hype, and the 2025 Auto Expo gave us the clearest glimpse yet. Now, with the latest teaser, it’s almost certain—the Sierra has reached its production form.
And believe us—it’s a good thing.
The Sierra is aggressive, upright, and confident—the kind of SUV that makes you look twice.
Here’s what you notice:
- Cliff-faced front end—an aggressive appearance.
- Short, muscular overhangs; vertical rear tail.
- Iconic wraparound glass—a throwback to the ’90s Sierra.
- Gloss black embellishments running along the bumpers, arches, and sills.
- Contiguous full-width LED light bar in the front.
- Squared-off tail lamps in the back.
- Pop-out door handles and 19-inch dual-tone alloys.
At 4.3 meters long, it competes directly with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate—yet manages to look far more distinctive.
Tata Sierra 2025 Interior: Where Tech Meets Class

Step inside the 2025 Sierra, and you’ll find a luxurious, minimalist interior that blends comfort with futuristic tech.
The dashboard boasts three digital displays:
- A digital driver’s display
- A central infotainment screen
- A dedicated passenger display—similar to high-end EVs like the XUV9e
The steering wheel is a four-spoke design with an illuminated Tata logo, a Range Rover-like gear selector, and touch-and-toggle climate controls.
The beige-and-black interior with silver embellishments exudes a sense of luxury, and the cream seats are aesthetically pleasing—although perhaps not suitable for dusty roads in India!
Additional features include:

- Panoramic sunroof
- Rear window sun shields
- Sturdy rear seating
- Dual climate control
- 360° camera & digital rearview mirror
- Powered tailgates & cooled front seats
It’s neat, classy, and loaded—just as you’d expect from Tata’s new-gen SUV.
Safety & ADAS: Smarter and More Secure

Tata is putting a lot into the aspect of safety too—the new Sierra will offer:
- Six airbags
- ABS with EBD
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
- ISOFIX child seat fittings
- Camera- and radar-based ADAS
On the safety side:
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Lane Keep Assist
- Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
- Auto Emergency Braking
Tata is clearly aiming for a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating and a Global NCAP rating.
Engines & Powertrain Options: Many Choices
The 2025 Sierra is not a pretty thing looking good—it will have a lot of muscle to accompany it.
1.5L Turbo Petrol
- 170 hp & 280 Nm of torque
- Tata’s new direct injection engine will debut on the Sierra.
Naturally Aspirated Petrol (1.5L)
- ~ 120 hp, ~ 140 Nm
- Smooth and efficient—just right for city driving.
Diesel (1.5L)
- 118 hp and 260 Nm
- Tata’s tried-and-true engine with FWD & terrain modes
Each variant will come with a manual 6-speed, and also automatic variants will be available.
Sierra EV
Now the fun starts—the Sierra EV!
It will come with:
- 55 kWh and 65 kWh battery packs
- More than 500 km range (MIDC cycle)
- FWD (not AWD yet)
With this range and tech, it will be a serious contender against the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra BE.6, MG ZS EV, and Maruti eVX.
Tata Sierra 2025 Price, Variants & Rivals
Next, we have the Sierra going up against India’s hottest and current segment, the midsize SUV, meaning it’s going to compete against
- Hyundai Creta
- Kia Seltos
- Maruti Grand Vitara
- Toyota Hyryder
- Honda Elevate
- VW Taigun
- Škoda Kushaq
- MG Astor
- Citroën C3 Aircross
And if you expand into coupe SUVs, either Tata’s own Curvv or Citroën’s Basalt are also part of the family.
Expected Prices:
- Petrol/Diesel: ₹11 – ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom)
- EV: ₹20 – ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom)
If Tata strategically utilizes the pricing option — the Sierra could disrupt the segment in a way that is unprecedented.
In Closing: The Revival of a Legend
The Tata Sierra 2025 is not simply a return but rather a reinvention of a name.
It has the perfect mix of retro character and future-proof technology as well as an eye-catching design to boot, along with options for every driver with multiple powertrains.
Complete with retro wraparound glass and a three-screen cockpit, the Sierra is oozing style and confidence.
Provided that Tata can deliver on their promises (as we fully believe they will), it wouldn’t be hard to see the Sierra being the most talked about SUV all of 2025 in India.
